Hey, I'm Uma. I write occasionally. This is something I've written:
You are every star. You are the beginning of the universe, You are the end of it. Stretch your arms and touch the edges Of everything that is. You hold them up. Dust, moons, planets. All of it. Do not chase vagrant threads of light Round and round, your heart changing color, As callous warmth turns away, Or turns toward. Stay where you are, You have your own light. You are everything that shines. Those who know nothing of heights Speak of the proximity of the moon And its greatness. Do not listen. Smile, inwardly, knowing the reach of your rays. You are every star. You know better than to believe in dying. Or fear it. You burn, as stars do. You grow, you shrink, you die. And then you latch on to yourself, And are born again. And in this way, you are immortal. Reach across millennia, gather lost lifeless ghosts in your arms Everything you touch, lives.
